Emilio Butragueño and Baihas Baghdadi presented the collaboration agreement at Real Madrid City
Madrid, 2 December 2025. – Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, welcomed Baihas Baghdadi, Founder and Executive Chairman of the family office Baghdadi Capital, to present a new collaboration that strengthens the Fundación Real Madrid´s commitment to values-based education through sport in the Middle East. This agreement ensures the continuity of the Fundación’s social sports school in Lebanon and will implement the Fundación’s methodology in two new social sports projects in Syria.
The Fundación Real Madrid’s social sports school in Lebanon, developed in collaboration with the Frateli Foundation, is located in the Rmeileh refugee camp near the Syrian border. The project aims to expand opportunities for refugee boys and girls by supporting their access and adaptation to the country’s educational system.
In Syria, the Fundación Real Madrid’s methodology, For a REAL Education: Values and Sport, will be implemented through partnerships with local NGOs already operating in the country. The programme provides training, educational materials, and a structured model that ensures support for boys and girls in vulnerable situations, without requiring the construction of sports facilities.
Butragueño expressed his gratitude for Baghdadi Capital’s strong commitment to the Fundación’s social mission “so that these projects can grow solidly and reach more children. Once again, we demonstrate that sport is a powerful tool capable of opening pathways even in the most complex environments.”
For his part, Baihas Baghdadi, Founder and Executive Chairman of Baghdadi Capital, remarked that “with this agreement, Real Madrid shows not only that it is the best team in the world, but also one of the most generous. Collaborations such as ours make it possible to support communities at risk of marginalisation, as is the case of Syria, which has just emerged from a 14-year war and whose society is in urgent need of programmes like these offered by the Foundation.”
